The world faces a crisis that could bring about the collapse of civilisation. Meteorite dust has been decomposing metal such as iron at terrifying speeds. Buildings become unsafe to live or work in, tools for everyday life become useless and there seems to be no way in stopping this disaster from annihilating all civilisation.
Nikichi, a high school student struggles to comprehend what is happening to his city. From the buildings falling apart to the panic and craze of its residents. A chain of fear grips the city and all fight to survive in this iron-less world.
Nani mo Nai Kedo Sora wa Aoi began in issue 16 of Weekly Shonen Sunday by Author Hiroyuki Nishimori and Artist Yuuki Inuma. Both Nishimori and Inuma are experienced mangaka's with a list of previous work, including Tenshi na Konamaiki (Cheeky Angel) which saw Nishimori winning the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2001.
After reading the first couple of chapters it was a surprising good to read. The peoples reaction to the disaster was quite realistic, the fear and panic was portrayed nicely. There is even a hint of romance in this story, with Nikichi and his seemingly unrequited love with a certain strong willed archer.
