Could you please post the story of the first place winner of the treasure cup for volume 35 shonen weekly?!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the very late reply.
DeleteBy "first place winner of treasure cup for volume 35", I assume you actually mean the winner of the Golden Future Cup that appears in that issue. If so then you can read the oneshot from the site below.
http://www.mangapark.com/manga/goblin-night
However if you meant the JUMP treasure award then you can view the ones that got the honorable mention. Follow the link below to view current and past awards.

Is it possible for someone outside of Japan to enter these manga contest or is the only way to be eligible by being in Japan.
ReplyDeleteAnyone from anywhere can enter these competitions, as long as you follow the guidelines listed above.
DeletePlease note: - You are required to write in Japanese.
- If you win you will be invited to attend a ceremony in Japan.
How can any one outside Japan get a good editor for him/herself?
ReplyDeleteFrom what I know. If you take part and win in the above competitions you may be assigned an editor from Shuiesha. Other than that I'm not too sure you can get a good editor outside Japan. If you live in the US you can try and see whether Viz media offer anything similar.
DeleteThanks. How would rate the Bakuman starter kit on scale of 1-10? Is it worth the money?
DeleteWow. I had no idea they did these. You will have to do some research to know whether it’s worth it.
DeleteCheck your local art shop; they should have most of the tools you would need to draw manga. It could work out cheaper.
From what I can see, The Bakuman starter kit, offers you a way to learn the basics of being an assistant. Adding tones and effects. Most reviews I read show positive feedback. It really is up to you. If I were serious about being a mangaka and had the money, then I would purchase this. But it won’t offer a lot as it is only a starting point.
If you want manga effects or background, just search for it on google. There are tons of sites that offer free effects images.
If I had to rate it...just from looking at the materials they offer etc. I will say, 6/10.
I have the determination but not the money. I costs Rs 3340 here in India. But the thing is it has a G,Kabura, maru, sceentones, ink, frenchcurves!!!!!!
DeleteWhat is the fastest way to get serialized in shonen jump?
ReplyDeleteSerialised? wow.
DeleteThat is usually a long process.
First you need an editor.
Then take produce a story concept, character design and oneshot that impresses them.
Win competitions with it and it could be published the following year.
From what I know, the process from getting an editor to having your work published in Shonen Jump usually takes several years. Unless you are extremely talented and or lucky.
Also you might want to make clear what magazine you want your work published in. Shonen Jump is the US version and Weekly Shonen Jump is the Japanese.
In japan of course
ReplyDeleteIf you are aiming to publish your work in Japan. You must know how to write and read in Japanese; otherwise Weekly Shonen Jump editors may not even look at your work.
DeleteHow do I become the assistant of any mangaka in Japan
ReplyDeleteFirst you have to live in Japan, speak the language and be registered with the affiliated magazine as a mangaka. Then after meeting your editor you get assigned as an assistant to a working (or professional) mangaka.
DeleteHow does one who lives outside japan know the results of the JUMP treasure award?
ReplyDeleteIt is very difficult.
DeleteNormally they discuss the results in the magazine, but not many people share this with the rest of the online community.
You can also try here: http://www.shonenjump.com/j/manga-shou/treasureread.html
This link has past winners works and more
So how does one living outside japan gain access to the magazine (other than the app) ?
DeleteYou can buy it online from a Japanese store or any other online shops that offer them.
DeleteHere in the UK, I can order from two separate online shops, both of which are in Japan. There is also a Japanese book store here that sells the magazine.
So just do research. The online shops I use are:
CDJapan
YesAsia
Isnt there any way to view them online
ReplyDeleteThere are a few options.
DeleteYou could buy the magazine from Shonen Jump in the US. Everything is online now.
The not so legal way is to find a raw version that someone has scanned. But the Japanese government have been cracking down on these people so there isnt much out there.
The only other option is to read from sites like Mangareader etc.
Can a team of 2 submit a manuscript for the jump treasure? One person doing the story and the other the art.
DeleteYes. You should be able to do that, as long as you make it clear on who did what.
DeleteBut http://www.shonenjump.com/j/manga-shou/treasureread.html doesn't have 2016 results.
ReplyDeleteI'm sending a manuscript and I don't have access to jump here in India.
That's because the 2016 competition has not started.
DeleteDo you know Shonen Jump's(Japanese) contact no
ReplyDeleteI do not. However you should be able to find an email address somewhere on their site.
DeleteDo you think it is a good idea to contact them before sending in a manuscript
ReplyDeleteWhat you should do is to first check and make sure they are taking in submissions. Some of these competitions are during certain times of the year. Also I have not checked on their requirements in awhile, so you should refer to their sites for more information.
DeleteIn regards to your question, I do not think its necessary to contact them before sending in a manuscript. However, if you have some pressing questions, then I advise you to contact them directly.
