Alice Ryouhei will leave high school soon, but he's trying to avoid thinking about his future. Late one night, when he's hanging out with his tough friend Karube and his silly, girl-crazy friend Chota, they see fireworks. After one blindingly bright explosion, they find themselves waking up in a different world 'Borderland'.

Imawa no Kuni no Alice (Alice in Borderland) began in 2010 where it was published in Shonen Sunday S. The new part of the story Spade no King (King of Spades) started in issue 2/3 or Weekly Shonen Sunday 2014 edition.
Haro Asou, the manga author of Alice in Borderland is an experienced mangaka. Not only did he have the first part of this story printed in Shonen Sunday S but in 2008 he had another, more well known series, Hyde & Closer.
